My first tech conference - CityJS Singapore 2024

I traveled to Singapore to attend a tech conference. It’s my first time attending such event. As a remote developer, I really enjoyed connecting with other developers face to face.

It all started when I was browsing this website: dev.events. This site lists almost all the tech conferences around the globe.

CityJS is a small conference comparing to other tech conferences that I followed on Youtube. The main conference day is happening on July 26th, 2024. Although I found the talks are not really interesting, it’s mostly companies sending a developer (or owner) to give a talk, promoting their product or services. But I did see a talk sharing pure knowledge on web accessibility and that’s awesome.

Here’s few more photos that I took during the event.

CityJS registeration desk where two volunteer developers helps distributing badge and T-shirt. A developer from Indonesia is giving a talk about web accessibility. The text on the slider in the photo says: For people without disabilities, technology make things easier. For people with disabilities, technology make things possible. (Quote from Rabadabaugh, 1988) Developers grabbing food during lunch time CityJS T-shirt and a CityJS Sticker that I have put on my laptop.
